How to get to Hvar
By car, bus, plane or train, you have to reach Split in Central Dalmatia, where you can take ferry or catamaran or plane to Hvar.
By car:from either north or south take the highway A1, or Adriatic highway to the port of Split where you will embark to Hvar.
By sea: ferries Split-Hvar. The island of Hvar can be reached by Jadrolinja from Split (1 hour of navigation). Departures are frequent throughout the day.
By ferry from Italy: SANAV, Blueline or Jadrolinja ferries to Split from the ports of Ancona and Bari, SNAV catamaran from the ports of Ancona and Pescara.
By plane: The airport of Split is served by Alitalia and Croatia Airlines flights from Milan Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino. From Ancona to Jelsa (Hvar) seaplane. From Split to Jelsa (Hvar) daily European Coastal Airlines flights.
By bus: bus lines connect the airport to the port of Split every 20 minutes.
